In the aspect of plumbing & sanitary, a ‘trap’ is a bend that prevent sewer gases or foul smell from escaping into the building.
Depends on the type of fixture, it is located below or within a fixture and is defined in the shape it forms; such as P-trap, Strap.

 

If WC with trap concealed, measure the trap distance from the ceiling (neighbor above your unit has the same trap distance)
