Rigerous July – September 2012 Issue

Minimum Resources, Maximum Value
It’s not about how much resources we have, but how resourceful we are. This could well be a universal message applicable from the efficiency-driven corporate world to the micro restroom enclave. Indeed, why waste what’s scarce when we can maximise its value?
Case in point – the way Rigel has made water work better by recycling and optimising every drop of this valuable natural resource to give it a new lease of life, much like this revamped issue of our newsletter.
In a world of increasing desertification, Rigel hopes to be a source of inspiration for resource-efficient living and management. So expect a more varied showcase of the great features and products that make our restrooms green, with Rigerous becoming quarterly issues and promising a wider spread of information and more columns, so you can generate more ideas to make the most out of what you have.

What Makes Our Restroom Green?
(1)Hydro Power Technology
Tap on the perks of water recycling right at your fingertips, with Rigel’s proprietary hydro power generator, also known as Hydro-Gen. Whether it is used to power our sensor tap or the latest LED Series of products, you can be sure the energy from water flow will go a long way.

(2)Integrated Water Recycle Cistern
With a built-in wash basin at the top of the water tank, Rigel’s water recycle cistern, now known as Recytern, allows waste water from the basin to be recycled and reused for the next round of flushing, conserving up to 65% of water and stretching your resource and cost savings too.

(3)Anti-Drip
It is easy to see why Rigel’s latest anti-drip mechanisms in both our sensor and manual soap dispensers will become an indispensable feature for those who do not wish to see resources go to waste. Building managers can cut back on messy spills and maintenance, while users can optimise every drop of soap for immaculate cleanliness.

What's New
(1)Shortest WCs Ever, Models: WH9110BP and WC9705S10
Working our way around the common problem of space constraints in Singapore, Rigel has developed the two shortest WCs in the market. With lengths of less than 50cm and 58cm respectively, our WH9110BP and WC9705S10 continue to yield optimum resource efficiency beneath their petite frames, with 3.5 litres of water achieving the same flushing effect as 4.5 litres. Get maximum benefits from minimalist designs.

(2)Urinal-DisplaySense Flush Valve , Model: AFS-202IDEA
Serving triple functions, Rigel’s enhanced LCD sensor flush valve goes beyond smart flushing. With a strategically positioned energy-efficient screen, it offers both media accessibility and a diagnostic platform that channels real-time functionality data back to the operations command centre for immediate action. How’s that for more streamlined building management that optimises every available resource?

(3)Three-in-One Paper Dispenser, Model: PD108D
For a resource-efficient paper dispenser that also serves as a waste receptacle and automatic hand dryer, look no further than this latest model, which is now neater and sleeker after its recent facelift. Reflecting our dedication to aesthetics and functionality, Rigel’s all-new three-in-one paper dispenser shows how we can spruce up existing resources.

Flashbacks: LEEDing the Way in Chile
Spreading the message of energy efficiency beyond the shores of Singapore, Rigel’s distributor in Chile, Bercia, has raised the bar further by getting our restroom products certified by the US Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) system.
In fact, as part of Bercia’s 60th anniversary celebration, it hosted the LEED Commercial Interiors Seminar on 27 April 2012, followed by Expo Ecobuild America from 28 to 29 May 2012, impressing industry players with Rigel’s contribution to the more resourceful management of green buildings.
With the waves of positive press coverage received, a prominent display of our green capabilities in the April to June issue of the acclaimed D+A magazine, as well as a newly opened showroom in Chile, Rigel and Bercia are all set to make a splash in the South American market.

Flashbacks: Building our Appeal in Africa
On the arid African landscape, which is also marred by backward hygiene standards in many areas, what can be better than Rigel’s green restroom products that minimise water use, while maximising cleanliness?
Indeed, we have cast our appeal to many potential clients and distributors at Buildexpo Kenya 2012, the largest-of-its-kind trade exhibition held at Kenyatta International Conference Centre, Nairobi, from 5 to 7 May 2012. This will surely pave the way for Rigel to bring our green restroom movement into Africa.

Great Staff: Ball of a Time at Batam
Letting their hair down and getting their spirits up, Rigel’s HODs and regional managers certainly had an invigorating corporate retreat at Batam from 22 to 23 June 2012. Besides emerging more united through fun-filled team-bonding activities, Rigel’s top management also benefited greatly from the corporate training set to strengthen leadership skills.
So expect better and more efficient services from Rigel in future, and we will be sure to update you on new staff upgrading programmes.
