From securing double victory at the Singapore Prestige Brand Award 2011 as we won the Regional Brands accolade for the first time and the Established Brands title for the second consecutive year, entering the big league of Singapore’s top companies to be nurtured for public listing with our achievement of the Enterprise 50 Award, outshining numerous reputable multi-national corporations to be conferred the Top Honour winner for Sustainable Business Award, to enjoying stellar recognition on the regional stage with the esteemed ASEAN Business Award, Rigel has moved beyond being just a locally renowned brand name to becoming one of the most outstanding companies in the region.
This year, as we cast our sights on more accreditations that can shape us into an internationally-renowned green restroom specialist, we are confident we can up the ante and make our mark on the global stage very soon.
Flashbacks : Ties that Get Better with Age
There is nothing like fine wine and good food to bring people together. And this was how Rigel ushered in the new year with a sleek and sassy edge.
Held on 13 January 2012 in our Kaki Bukit showroom, Rigel’s second wine appreciation night set an enchanting ambience for renewing old ties while surrounded by intoxicating and gastronomical delights. In the relaxed mood that fostered better camaraderie, our valued business associates started to develop a deeper appreciation of Rigel’s ideals to bring the green economy to greater heights.
Just as every drop makes an ocean, Rigel hopes that through frequent tête-à-tête sessions like this, our ties with customers can gradually mature into fruitful long-term partnerships that, like vintage wine, can only grow stronger with age.
Making Waves Ahead : Rigel Goes Africa
With all our resource-efficient restroom features, Rigel has much to offer the Africa market, where water scarcity has marred sanitation standards for decades.
So by participating in Buildexpo Kenya 2012, we hope to contribute our expertise to prominent industry players in the affiliated building and construction markets and reach out to potential distributors, developers, architects and contractors with our competitive advantage of enhancing sanitation in the most sustainable way.
Into its 15th year, this international trade exhibition, which will be held at Kenyatta International Conference Centre, Nairobi, from 5 to 7 May 2012, promises to be the biggest in Kenya.
As we leverage on the publicity, exposure and Kenya’s strategic location to make further inroads into the huge Africa market, we are confident we can seal more strategic partnerships and, just like how we have created restroom oases on many desert landscapes in the Middle East, pave the way for cleaner and greener sanctuaries to be shaped in the similarly arid continent of Africa.
What Makes our Restrooms Green?
(1)Hydro Power Technology
Rigel’s pioneering invention transforms the energy from water flow into electrical power, which is then used to drive our sensor taps. By running on its own rechargeable energy, our hydro-powered tap is more energy-efficient and self-sustainable for up to 10 years. The turbine rotor in the hydro generator further reduces water discharge volume by 30%.
(2)Hydro Power LED Lights
Whether they are used to illuminate Rigel’s lever taps or overhead showers or used to replace bulky half flush and full flush buttons on our WCs, these energy-efficient LED lights also serve as elegant temperature indicators. As they are driven by hydro power technology, they run on their own rechargeable battery packs, so functionality is not affected even in the event of a power breakdown. Instead, they continue to enshroud the restroom in a calm and soothing ambience.
(3)Digital Control Shower System
This high-tech system completes the seamless smart home experience. Through the sleek display of different control buttons that supply water to the overhead shower, hand shower and bath mixer, users can activate the three-way valve easily and choose their desired water output spot, water flow rate, water pressure and water temperature all on one compact interface. There is also the eco function that recommends the optimum water flow rate for greater sustainability and resource conservation.
