Upholding its corporate social responsibility, Rigel joined industry experts at the World Toilet Summit and Expo 2009 to promote new initiatives to create “the blueprint for a sustainable sanitation marketplace”.

Showcasing its advanced eco-friendly technology and contemporary restrooms that make optimum use of resources during this empowering summit held at Suntec Singapore from 2nd to 4th December 2009, Rigel has impressed numerous delegates ranging from government representatives, UN agencies, NGOs, the media, commercial firms, specialists, decision makers, opinion leaders to the academia.

In line with the pressing need for a paradigm shift to allow disadvantaged populations to gain access to proper sanitation, Rigel has pledged to step up on its R&D efforts to create more sustainable sanitation systems and work in synergy with regional and international organisations to help resolve this humanitarian crisis.

Rigel has played its part as a conscientious member of the international community, and this is not just driven by the vast opportunities in the global sanitation market estimated to be worth more than USD1 trillion. In a world where at least 500 million public and private sanitation systems are needed, Rigel hopes to address this lack of hygiene solutions by tapping on its strength in environmentally-sustainable mechanisms, because it believes that everyone needs a clean restroom to lead a healthy and dignified life.
