Founded on the belief that the Earth’s depleting resources may be sustained and optimised far longer if people use them more wisely and purposefully, Rigel’s steadfast approaches and operations, transpiring in green sanitation technologies, products and even lifestyles, have earned distinguished recognition by Singapore Business Federation’s (SBF) panel of both local and international eminent judges at the recent Singapore Sustainability Awards (SSA).

The SSA is an initiative of the Singapore Business Federation to acknowledge leading progressive Singapore enterprises, who take on their business practices with fervour to fulfil sustainability excellence and attain a winning edge amongst their contemporaries. The SBA directs its objectives towards businesses achieving a sustainable future together, to position Singapore as the centre bringing about long-term sustainability developments and solutions, inciting business growth potential, higher commercial value and new market opportunities.

The Awards, presented on the evening of 11 July 2011 at the Grand Hyatt Singapore, are made up of the Sustainable Business Awards (SBA) and the Green IT Awards categories, with a focus on the economic, environmental and social aspects of sustainable business practices. Emerging victorious out of 50 reputable corporations, Rigel was conferred the Top Honour winner for Sustainable Business Award 2011, alongside multi-national corporations and government-linked companies like DHL, Sembcorp, JTC Corporation, National Library Board, Resorts World Sentosa and ST Electronics, as Mr Christopher Ng Eng Seng, Rigel’s Managing Director, proudly received the trophy from Singapore’s Minister of State for Trade and Industry, Mr Teo Ser Luck, at the Singapore Sustainability Awards 2011 Gala Dinner.

With Rigel’s achievement of the Sustainability Business Award, we are now inducted into the SBA Awards Club and can work more closely and interact with relevant industry and knowledge partners on new insights into sustainable business practices at events, trainings and in research. Such knowledge exchange not only benefits us on a corporate level, but also allows us to share what we know with others by showcasing our business model as a case study and reaching out with our innovations and technologies. Acting as a benchmark against other leading enterprises in sustainable business practices, Rigel now benefits from improved brand image and positioning in the sustainability industry.
